# MeterWhale: every Texas business meter over 50 kW, matched to a checked phone

MeterWhale sells prospect lists to Texas commercial energy brokers. Each prospect is an active business electric meter of 50 kW or more in ERCOT's public meter file, matched to the business at its address, with a phone we have checked: on the business's own website, line type, carrier, and known TCPA litigators. You pay per prospect from prepaid credits, with no subscription. https://meterwhale.com/

## The market

Deregulated Texas has 131,632 Medium (50 to 999 kW) and 5,403 Large (1 MW or more) business meters, per ERCOT's meter file dated October 5, 2026. Meters this size use 92% of the electricity Texas businesses use (236 of 256 billion kWh, ERCOT POLR counts, March 31, 2026). Oncor and CenterPoint hold 108,508 of the Medium meters. ## How well the matching works

In a test on 4,594 meters in TNMP's area, we found a phone for 2,509 of them (55%). In our sample for ZIP 77002, all 10 prospects had a phone confirmed on the business's own website.

## Prices

- Medium meter, one business at the address: $1.50 per prospect
- Medium meter, shared address: $0.75
- Large meter: $15.00
- No phone found: not charged. Bad phones are credited back.

Prepaid credit packs, valid 12 months, guest checkout through Stripe: Starter $50 ($50 credit), Pro $250 ($275 credit), Territory $1,000 ($1,200 credit).

A Medium meter averages 616,651 kWh a year. At $0.003 per kWh, that is about $1,850 a year in broker commission (our estimate), from a $1.50 prospect.

## Questions

- Is the usage figure the meter's own? No. Typical use and commission are size-class averages; the meter ID lets you request the meter's own usage.
- Do I need an account? No. The sample needs only a ZIP and an email address, and packs use guest checkout.
- What if a phone is wrong? Tell us and we credit that prospect back.
- Which areas are covered? Business meters of 50 kW or more in ERCOT's meter file: Oncor, CenterPoint, AEP Texas Central and North, TNMP, Lubbock and Nueces.
